Financial TV: Is There Anything Worth Watching Anymore?

There never seems to be enough time to keep up what’s going on in the world and how it’s affecting both the economy and us.  I used to keep CNBC on all the time while I worked around the house. But not anymore.

CNBC anchors now promote their very strong political opinions and interview many politicians.  I don’t understand that strategy because there is an endless choice of political shows that we can watch.

CNBC has also chosen to focus on derivative strategies, which are not appropriate for many individuals.  I find that a lot of the pundits present their opinions with a lot of swagger, perhaps to enhance their perceived expertise.

But I believe anyone that can read and has a little motivation, can learn about the economy and make better choices with their money. Here are a few Bloomberg anchors that present some thoughtful interviews:

  • Tom Keene hosts “Bloomberg Surveillance”, an early morning show. His informative interviews go deeper than many others.

  • Pim Fox hosts “Taking Stock with Pim Fox” at 5 PM ET.

  • In the later evening, Matt Miller provides a recap of the network’s daily interviews and events on “Bloomberg Rewind”.

Do you have any media recommendations?
